(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Efforts have been made to open a large number of employment opportunities for Sri Lankan workers in Singapore, Minister of Labor and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara says.
Employment opportunities have been opened in sectors such as nursing and hospitality services, hotel sector where high salaries can be obtained, according to the Minister.
Minister Nanayakkara said the Singapore Hotel Association is working to provide more job opportunities in the hotel sector in the future and a Singaporean delegation is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka to handle opportunities in the maritime sector.
The Minister said a multi-party discussion was held thorough Zoom with Singaporean authorities regarding getting more job opportunities faster and more efficiently. Accordingly, a joint committee of Foreign Employment Bureau, the Sri Lankan Embassy in Singapore, and the Foreign Employment Agency was established to take further steps.
