(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Sri Lanka’s Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) has taken steps to register small and medium-scale industrialists with the aim of bringing the country’s information technology-related devices and services to the international market.
The local IT companies registered through the AIMs (Access International Markets) national program operating under the Technology Industry Development Division of the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka will be taken to the international market using international relations.
Within the last six months, over 100 IT industrialists have been registered with the ICTA program. More than 50 small and medium IT industrialists have been given various concessions under the AIMs national program.
The AIMs national program has been strengthened with the support of government institutions such as the foreign embassies, high commissions and bilateral chambers of commerce representing Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka expects to generate US$ 3 billion income from the IT industry by 2024. The support of the Department of Commerce and the Export Development Board has also been received for the endeavor.
