(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Police Media Spokesman Senior Superintendent of Police Nihal Thalduwa Tuesday (22), said that 60 shooting incidents have taken place across the country in the first eight months of this year alone and 36 people have died in those shootings.
SSP Thalduwa said 28 people were injured in those shootings and no one was injured in six shootings.
Mr. Thalduwa also says that although these shootings have taken place due to various reasons including personal disputes, most of them have been carried out by organized criminals including the underworld.
The Police Media Spokesman further said that there was no big difference in shootings this year as compared to the previous year.
