(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The third edition of the Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup 2024, an esteemed inter-club golf tournament organized by the Air Force Golf Links and Courses, is set to take place on the 28th and 29th of June 2024.
The event will be held in the picturesque setting of China Bay, near the Harbour City of Trincomalee. This tournament will bring together the prominent golf clubs of the country, including the Royal Golf Club, Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, Victoria Golf Resort and Air Force Eagles’ Golf Links & Courses, square off to win the Championship trophy.
As a team-based competition, the Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup aims to foster inter-club friendship and camaraderie while also encouraging friendly competition. Each of the four clubs will field a team of 15 members to vie for the Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup Trophy. Additionally, individual golfers will compete for several awards, including Nearest to the Pin (both ladies and gents), Longest Drive (both ladies and gents), Best Player with the highest Nett Stableford points and Best Player with the highest Gross Stableford points. The tournament will culminate in an awards ceremony on the 29th of June 2024.
The main sponsor for the third edition of the Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup is DIMO, with the Bank of Ceylon serving as the official banking partner. Co-sponsored by the China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC) in Sri Lanka, this prestigious tournament is supported by the Air Force Eagles’ Golf Links and Courses. The Quadrangle Cup Golf Tournament 2024 is expected to connect individuals from various walks of life, including elite players from Sri Lanka’s golfing fraternity, showcasing exceptional skills in a beautiful golfing location.
The representatives from DIMO and the Bank of Ceylon met with the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, at Air Force Headquarters today (25 June 2024). Following cordial discussions, symbolic sponsorship cheques were presented to the Commander by, General Manager of Corporate and Communications at DIMO, Mr. Yohan Thilakaratne and the Assistant General Manager (Western Province South) of the Bank of Ceylon, Mr. Asanka Bentharavithana. The event was attended by the Senior Manager of Corporate Communications at DIMO, Ms. Anjaana Samarasunghe, the Senior Executive of Digital Engagement at DIMO, Mr. Harun Gunasekaran and the Chief Marketing Officer of the Bank of Ceylon, Mr. Sameera D. Liyanage.
