Sri Lankan wanted for child sex abuse nabbed in Philippines

(MANILA, LANKAPUVATH) – A Sri Lankan wanted for sexually abusing mostly young children has been arrested by the Police in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija in the Philippines, the Inter Aksyon reported.

Senior Superintendent Edwin Quilates, Chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Luzon, said Kokila Ekanayake Kumara was arrested at the Old Capitol Compound in Barangay San Roque.

The arresting team was armed with a warrant for Kumara’s arrest on charges of violating Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act.
