(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –President Maithripala Sirisena paid respects to the Korean martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice during three different wars with invading forces.
He visited the War Heroes Memorial Tower situated at the National Cemetery in Seoul and he was received by National Cemetery Superintendent, An Suhyun.
After a solemn ceremony by military band, the President placed a wreath at the Monument and put incense powder to the eternal lamp at the Alter. After a 2 minute silence the simple ceremony concluded.
Ministers Dr Sarath Amunugama, Tilak Marapana, Daya Gamage, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Malik Samarawickrema and Thalatha Athukorale and Ambassador Maneesha Gunasekera were also present on this occasion.
