(KUALA LUMPUR, LANKAPUVATH) –Bollywood megastar Salman Khan may be one of the Indian film industry’s richest actors, but he feels getting married is “too expensive”.
The 52-year-old actor recently told online Indian entertainment magazine NDTV the reason behind his single status.
“Weddings have become such a big thing that people spend a fortune in organising them. I may be earning a lot but weddings are just beyond my reach,” he said.
Ironically, Salman organised a lavish wedding for his elder sister Arpita at the Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad four years ago, and it was one of the most expensive in India back then. The wedding guests were also accommodated in the Palace to ensure privacy.
Forbes magazine listed Salman as one of Bollywood’s three richest actors in 2017, and his take-home pay was US$37 million (RM145,021,583).
In 2016, when asked about marriage, Salman gave reporters a different answer.
“I am not marrying because I don’t think I can be a good husband as yet,” he said.
Perhaps, Salman is keeping the real reason for staying single close to his heart. For now, fans around the world will continue to pray that he gets hitched soon.
Salman is currently filming Race 3 with Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol. He will also be in the films Bharat and Dabangg 3.
