(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The President had given his approval to the list of new directors to be appointed to the board of the National Child Protection Authority, Secretary to the President Austin Fernando has said.
The new Board of Directors will comprise of 15 members, including 12 officials and three members nominated by the President.
Due to the termination of term of office, the Board of Directors was dissolved in April and the appointment of new directors was delayed for three months due to various reasons.
Hence, new recruitment, and formulation of new policies and implementation at the National Child Protection Authority had been impeded.
The first meeting of the new director board will be held this week, said the Chairman of the National Child Protection Authority Attorney HM Abeyratne.
