(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –President Maithripala Sirisena fulfilled a simple expectation of student Prabodha Lahiruni of Polonnaruwa Royal College. To develop her aesthetics talents is one of the major dreams of Lahiruni. The President gifted her a sitar yesterday (18th) at the President Secretariat, thus providing her a chance to improve her musical skills.
She hopes to go continue with Aesthetic Studies after the Advance Level exams. Therefore, she selected music as a main subject and she needed a music instrument for that purpose.
The girl was severely depressed due to her lack of financial ability to purchase the music instrument as her family was living in the midst of many economic difficulties.
On the 8th of December 2018, the President made a contribution to another student. He visited Ganangola in Polonnaruwa to hand over a new house to student Shalika Lakshan.
After that the President presented the sitar to Prabodha Lahiruni, when she arrived at the President Secretariat with her parents yesterday morning (18th).
