(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –State Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Dilip Wedaarachchi has assured to conduct a formal investigation into the allegations leveled by the trade unions that irregularities have taken place at the Cey-Nor Foundation.
At a discussion held with the representatives of the employees, the State Minister said a formal inquiry into the administration and the activities of the Cey-Nor Foundation affiliated with the Ministry will be conducted. If any misconduct by anybody is confirmed the law will be enforced against them regardless of their status, the State Minister added.
This was stated by the State Minister Wedaarachchi at a discussion held at the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development with representatives of trade unions and employees of the Institute.
The Minister emphasized that the attention will be directed to the facts presented by the trade unions and action will be taken after an immediate investigation into the complaints.
Minister Wedaarachchi further said that the heads of departments and new board of directors will be appointed promptly and relevant functions will be commenced and advised the administration clearly until then not to give any new recruitments or transfers.
Cey-Nor Foundation Limited is a state-owned business organization functioning under Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development of Sri Lanka.
