Sri Lankan President to commence working visit to Singapore today

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – Sri Lankan Maithripala Sirisena will make a three-day working visit to Singapore from January 23-25, to attend the Third Forum of Ministers and Environment Authorities of Asia Pacific, the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

President Maithripala Sirisena, who is also the Minister of Defense and Mahaweli Development and Environment, will deliver a keynote speech at the meeting.

The Third Forum of Ministers and Environment Authorities of Asia Pacific, jointly organized by the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources and the UN Environment, will take place from 23 to 25 January 2019 in Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore.

The Forum will focus on ‘Innovative solutions for environmental challenges and sustainable consumption and production’.

During his visit, President Sirisena will be hosted to lunch by President Halimah Yacob and have a meeting with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
