(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – A Dubai court has extended the remand of underworld leader Makandure Madush, Singer Amal Perera and his son Nadeemal Perera and 28 others who were under Dubai Police custody for a month.
The group of Sri Lankans arrested earlier last month in Dubai, have been remanded until March 28 when they were produced before the Dubai court yesterday (28).
Sri Lankan Attorney-at-Law, Shabdika Wellappili appeared on behalf of Amal Perera and Nadeemal Perera.
It has been reported that the Dubai police had directed the arrest reports of the 31 suspects on 5th February to the international branch of Sri Lanka Police.
The suspects were produced in Dubai court on 14 February and they were remanded until 28 February and they were produced in court again yesterday.
