(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – The Special High Court today ordered the release of Niraj Roshan alias ‘Ali Roshan’ and 6 others over the illegal possession of four elephants and racketeering.
Ali Roshan was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) last year over the elephant racket but was later granted bail.
Today the court found that it had no jurisdiction to hear the case and so ordered the release of the suspects.
