(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says that the country’s economy is being built for the younger generation to have a hope of the future.
Speaking in Parliament on the committee stage debate of the 2019 budget Thursday (March 14), the Premier said the trade zone and the steel factory will be opened in Trincomalee within the next two months.
The expenditure head of the Ministry of National Policy, Economic Affairs, Re-settlement and Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development, Vocational Training and Skills Development and Youth Affairs was debated today.
The Prime Minister highlighting the government’s development agenda said a trade zone and a steel factory will be started in Trincomalee within the next two months. “The opposition cannot stand to hear these. Democracy was defended. The economy of the country is being built for the youth. Look at the economy. You can have a hope for the future. By the year 2025, we will take this country forward,” the Prime Minister said.
