(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Four Sri Lankan men who were arrested by British counter-terrorism police hours after they arrived at the Luton airport in London have been released under investigation.
The four Sri Lankan nationals arrived at Luton Airport on an international flight on the evening of Wednesday, 10 April were arrested by the police the next day on suspicion of being members of a banned organization
They have been nabbed on suspicion of membership of a proscribed organization, contrary to section 11 of the Terrorism Act 2000, the Metropolitan Police said. They were each arrested under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984.
All four men were released on Friday, BBC reported.
The four men were detained at a police station in Bedfordshire while police enquiries were ongoing.
