(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The Maldives has offered to work with Sri Lanka on security coordination.
Maldives Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe this morning.
He conveyed a message of solidarity from Maldives President Solih to the Prime Minister and the people of Sri Lanka.
According to the Prime Minister’s office Abdulla Shahid had stated that the Maldives was impressed with the leadership shown in bringing the country together and pledged to work together with the Sri Lankan authorities in the region on security coordination.
The Maldives noted that in the era of global terrorism there are no borders and religion for these terrorists.
