Sri Lanka Air Force to deploy helicopters to monitor disruptive activities

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – Sri Lanka Air Force has taken steps to deploy helicopters day and night to capture the perpetrators of disruptive activities in the conflict stricken areas as well as in other parts of the country.

Air Force Spokesman Group Captain Gihan Seneviratne said the measure is aimed at returning normalcy to the people’s lives.

He further said that people who are initiating and engaging in clashes and disruptive activities, will be photographed from air to use the photographs as evidence to enforce the law against the perpetrators.

The Air Force Spokesman said a number of security measures have been implemented island wide by the Sri Lanka Air Force to ensure the safety and security of the public and maintain law and order.

He said that as daily duties, the security personnel of the Air Force have been deployed to ensure the safety of the school children in the schools in the three main divisions of Colombo, Katunayake and Ratmalana and Palaviya, Sigiriya, Morawewa, Meerigama and Diyatalawa subdivisions.
