(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The Cabinet of Ministers convened today presided by President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat this morning.
The Cabinet Meeting is regularly held every Tuesday but it was not held last Tuesday (June 11) after the President reportedly boycotted the meeting.
At an emergency Cabinet meeting held on June 7, the President had stated that he would not attend the Cabinet meeting if the Parliamentary Select Committee appointed to investigate the Easter attack was acting unilaterally.
However, a week later the Cabinet meeting is being held at the Presidential Secretariat under the patronage of the President.
