(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –President Maithripala Sirisena in his capacity as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces has extended the service of Major General Shavendra Silva, Army Chief of Staff, till December 31, effective from June 22, a statement issued by the Sri Lanka Army said.
Major General Shavendra Silva is also the Colonel of the Regiment, Gajaba Regiment and Colonel of the Regiment, Commando Regiment.
He was appointed to the office of Army Chief of Staff on January 9, 2019.
