Vice Chancellors hold discussions with Prime Minister on uplifting university standards

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The Vice Chancellors representing the universities in the island met Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and discussed the problems and challenges faced by the Sri Lankan universities and their future development plans.

Fourteen Vice Chancellors of the universities were present at the discussion held at Temple Trees yesterday (29th).

The educators at length discussed upgrading university standards, ensuring independence at universities, postgraduate Courses, English Education, and the role of the Vice Chancellors with the Prime Minister.

The discussion also focused on physical, psychological and cyber torture taking place in universities.

During discussion, it was also emphasized the need for the university community to continue their studies in a better environment and the need to make changes to suit the modern world.
