(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –A total number of 6659 motorists have been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol from July 5 to August 1, the police media said.
A special island-wide operation was commenced from July 5 , in order to apprehend drunk drivers.
Accordingly 180 drunk drivers were arrested from July 31, 6.00am to August 1, 6.00am.
