(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The term of Chief of Defense Staff Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne has been extended by President Maithripala Sirisena.
Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne’s term has been extended until till December 31, 2019 with effect from 22 August 2019.
Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne was appointed as the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy on 7 July 2014 and was promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral and appointed as the Commander of the Navy on 11 July 2015. He served as the Navy Commander until he was appointed as CDS on August 22, 2017.
