(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – The Sri Lanka Freedom Party will celebrate its 68th anniversary today at the annual convention to be held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium today under the patronage of the party leader, President Maithripala Sirisena.
The SLFP’s 68th Anniversary Celebrations under the theme “Verdict to Right Hand” (Theenduwa Hari athata) will get underway at 2 pm today following the arrival of President Sirisena.
Members of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) from all parts of the island are expected to join the event SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara said everything is ready for the event.
SLFP was founded by the 4th Prime Minister of Sri Lanka late S.W.R.D Bandaranaike in 1951 and, since then, it has been one of the two largest parties in the Sri Lankan political arena.
