(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – The Sri Lanka Navy has seized 200 kg of heroin off the coast of Galle.
Navy Media Spokesman Lieutenant Commander Isuru Sooriyabandara said that five suspects had been arrested along with the haul of narcotics.
The suspects had been transporting the illegal substance in a multi-day trawler, which was brought to the Colombo harbor escorted by the Navy.
Additionally, the Navy Spokesman revealed that the Navy had confiscated a total of 739 kg of heroin this year in similar raids.
