(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Sri Lanka Police reiterated that According to the provisions of Section 70 of the Presidential Election Act, all propaganda related to the Presidential Election end from midnight Wednesday.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Ruwan Gunasekara said that those who violate these laws and engage in election campaign activities will be videotaped and the law will be strictly enforced against them.
SSP Gunasekara said all police officers have been informed on how to take action regarding political activities during the silent period and the necessary funds have been provided for the police to video such activities.
He said that the video footage will be used to identify the persons engaged in propaganda activities during this silent period and to take legal action against them.
