President leaves for India

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has left for India today to undertake a two-day State visit on an invitation extended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, states a release from the President’s Media Division.

During the visit President Rajapaksa will meet Indian President Ram Nath Kovind and hold bilateral talks with the Indian Prime Minister.

President Rajapaksa will also meet with other Indian dignitaries.

The State visit to India is the first overseas visit by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa since his assumption of office as the President of Sri Lanka this month. The President will be accompanied by Secretary to the President Dr. P. B. Jayasundara, Ravinatha Aryasinha, Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Secretary to the Treasury Sajith Attygalle and Honorary Advisor to the President Lalith Weeratunge.
