(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – The Chinese Embassy in Colombo has made a request to the tourists arriving in Sri Lanka from the coronavirus affected places in China to cancel their travel plans and refrain from visiting crowded places.
The Government Information Department has issued the announcement made by the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka explaining the steps taken to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
Following is the Chinese Embassy announcement:
Chinese authorities have responded to the epidemic with highest attention, and have taken strict measures to control it from further spread.
The Chinese Embassy has also fully cooperated with Sri Lanka departments and taken effective precautions, trying its very best to protect Sri Lanka and its people from the epidemic.
I. The Chinese government has temporarily closed exit enter channels to cities which have been most vulnerable and much affected by the epidemic.
II. The Chinese government has cancelled all outbound group travels.
IIl. The Chinese government has been keeping close watch on travel groups from China, and reported and sent suspicious fever cases to hospitals at the earliest time requesting people on the same group to stop traveling and quarantine themselves.
IV. The Chinese Embassy has shared information including fever cases and the patients’ agenda with Sri Lanka authorities.
V. The Chinese Embassy has at the earliest time released the notice requesting tourists who have already arrived in Sri Lanka from epidemic affected area to cancel their plans, and avoid crowded places.
VI. The Chinese Embassy has advised that tourists from epidemic affected areas, including Hubei Province postponed or cancel their plans to visit Sri Lanka.
