(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – The Government has imposed a curfew islandwide today (27), in view of facilitating the return of Tri Forces personnel who are on leave to their respective camps following the cancellation of all Tri Forces leave. Earlier, the curfew was to be lifted this morning in all areas other than four districts (Colombo, Puttalam, Kalutara and Gampaha).
Tri Forces personnel who are required to return to their camps will be provided with transport facilities by the Forces.
However, if transport facilities cannot be obtained due to some reason or circumstances, the personnel are advised to report to the camp closest to their residence and coordinate with their superior officers over the next steps.
The curfew in the above four districts will continue while it will be relaxed in the other districts on Tuesday. The curfew will be re-imposed every night and relaxed the following morning in these areas until the authorities decide that it is safe to remove the curfew. All health safeguards should be followed by the public regardless of whether the curfew is in effect or not, DG Health Services Anil Jasinhge told a media briefing. Stern action will be taken against curfew violators and the police can take action against those who flout health regulations even in areas where the curfew is relaxed, DIG Ajith Rohana said.
