(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – The Consumer Affairs Authority has removed the Maximum Retail Prices imposed on Mysore dhal and canned fish with effect from April 30.
The Consumer Affairs Authority has issued a special gazette notification announcing the removal of the ceiling prices state in an earlier gazette notification.
The Authority on 17 March 2020 set a price ceiling of Rs. 65 for a kilogram of Mysore dhal, and Rs. 100 for a a 425 gram tin of canned fish as a concession to the public in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Consumer Affairs Authority last week rescinding an earlier gazette notification on 12 October 2018 removed the Maximum Retail Prices imposed on sugar.
