(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – The date of the general election for the parliamentary election in Sri Lanka will be decided after the next meeting of the Elections Commission on next Monday (June 08), said its Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya.
He said this at a press conference held at the Election Commission Yesterday(03).
The Election Commission chairman said the Health Ministry has given a document listing out the health guidelines to be followed during the election and the commission will set the date for the election after discussing the set of guidelines with the district offices.
Deshapriya said a massive number of health officials will be present at polling centers and urged the public not to conduct massive rallies or transport people for political meetings and maintain social distancing,
