(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The Director of Health, Dr. Anil Jasinghe says that the permission has been granted to open religious places for services from 12th June and to resume tuition classes from 29th June.
Maintaining the physical distance of one meter depending on the space available, the maximum number of students able to attend one tuition class is limited to 100.
When there are no facilities for teaching 100 students in the relevant classroom or hall while maintaining health guidelines, a fraction of the number of students normally attending the tuition class is allowed to attend depending on the space available.
Earlier, the Government Information Department said Tuition classes can resume from 15th but changed to 29th later.
Similarly permission has been granted for gatherings to be assembled for religious activities subject to restrictions from the 12th June.
Accordingly, the maximum number of people attending religious gatherings or entering religious places including the buildings and outdoor areas while maintaining physical distance safeguarding personal health is limited to 50.
But in places where there is no room for 50 people to attend or stay while maintaining the physical distance, only half of the maximum number of people normally attend the place will be allowed.
The permission has been granted to the respective institutions subjected to full compliance by all concerned parties with the health guidelines issued to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
