(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Fourteen suspects have been arrested, who caused damage to the Angulana Police Station yesterday over the recent shooting incident in Lunawa, according to the Police Media Unit.
A group who gathered at the scene of incident had pelted stones at the police station. A protest was launched in front of the Angulana Police Station by a group of residents in the area, last morning (16) over the shooting incident where a 39-year-old fisherman was shot dead by officers of the Angulana Police Station at the Lunawa checkpoint subsequent to an altercation between the two parties.
Meanwhile, 8 Police officers were injured in the incident.
The suspects will be produced before the Moratuwa Magistrate’s Court today (17)
