(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The total number of PCR Tests performed so far has reached 137,407. A total of 2723 PCR Tests had been done on Friday and another 1888 PCR Tests had been done on Saturday, Epidemiology Unit sources said.
According to the sources, COVID-19 recovery rate of Sri Lanka has reached 75.26 percent and it is only 59.73 percent in the world. Sri Lanka’s recovery rate is above the USA (46.31 percent), India (62.84 percent), Russia (71.33 percent).
The fatality rate of Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 patients is only 0.41 percent and it is 4.19 percent in the world. Sri Lanka’s fatality is much lower than the USA (3.73 percent), India (2.49 percent), Russia (1.6 percent), sources said.
Only 658 COVID-19 patients are still receiving medical treatment at selected state hospitals and it is 24.3 percent from the total number of COVID-19 patients reported so far. The number of asymptomatic COVID-19 patients are much higher than the symptomatic patients reported so far, especially in the recent past, the sources added.
