(Colombo, LANKAPUVATH ): Leading Sri Lankan Life Insurer, Janashakthi Insurance PLC
held its 27th Annual General Meeting (AGM) via a virtual platform on the 23rd of July
2020. The session was hosted live for shareholders on a virtual platform in compliance
with the precautionary measures and safety recommendations imposed by the World
Health Organisation and Government authorities to combat the ongoing Covid-19
pandemic.
The session was successfully live streamed from the Janashakthi Life head office to
shareholders allowing a successful and interactive session. Shareholders were given
the opportunity to raise any questions, interact and actively participate as the relevant
procedures were explained to all members prior to the commencement of the meeting.
Moreover, online voting was also enabled ensuring seamless engagement and
convenience.
Commenting during the AGM, Janashakthi Insurance PLC’s Executive Chairman,
Prakash Schaffter reiterated Janashakthi Life’s continued commitment to empower
and support its shareholders, policyholders, partners and the community in these
challenging times. “The initiative of hosting this session on a virtual platform was taken
to ensure the health and safety of all stakeholders due to the prevailing situation. Even
though we are pleased to have delivered a strong performance with all key financial
metrics showing improved results in 2019, we are aware of the health and economic
challenges that lie ahead. As a purpose driven insurer, we remain committed to uplifting
the lives of our community and to support each other navigate these challenging times”,
Prakash Schaffter said.
