(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The inaugural cabinet meeting of the new government will be held tomorrow (19) under the chairmanship of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. The 28 new cabinet ministers are scheduled to attend.
It is also to be proposed to appoint Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena as the new Speaker of the Ninth Parliament, Dinesh Gunawardena as the Leader of the House and Johnston Fernando as the Chief Government Whip.
The meeting of the ruling party members is scheduled to be held tomorrow (19) afternoon under the patronage of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
The Ninth Parliament will convene on the 20th of August at 9.30 am. The Parliament will proceed by electing the Speaker, Deputy Speaker and Deputy Chairperson of Committees respectively, after which all members will take the official oaths of affirmation.
