(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Cabinet of Ministers approved a proposal made by the Minister of Irrigation and the State Minister of Internal Defence, Home Affairs and Disaster Management to appoint a Ministerial Sub Committee headed by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa for organizing and monitoring the 73rd Independence Day Celebrations falls on February 4, 2021, Co-cabinet Spokesman Mass Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.
The Minister was addressing the weekly cabinet media briefing held today at the Government Information Department.
The other members of the committee are Education Minister Prof. G. L. Peiris, Foreign Affairs Minister Dinesh Gunawardhane, Public Service, Provincial Councils and Local Governments Minister Janaka Bandara Thennakoon, Mass Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, Irrigation Minister and State Minister of Internal defence, Home Affairs and Disaster Management Chamal Rajapaksha, Power Minister Dullas Alahapperuma, Water Supply Minister Wasudeva Nanayakkara.
