(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Presidential Task Force on Economic Recovery and Poverty Alleviation Chairman Basil Rajapaksa said that Sri Lanka has repaid all its loans despite having had to face numerous challenges due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
He said that it was unfortunate to see some world credit rating agencies downgrading Sri Lanka despite the country honouring all its loan payments on time.
He stressed the importance of maintaining the country’s economy and managing foreign currency properly as a country. He said that he was confident that Sri Lanka would repay all its loan installments properly and continue to do so in the coming year as well.
Chairman Rajapaksa was participating in a discussion at the North Western Provincial Committee on the implementation of the 2021 Budget Proposals under the programme Gama SamagaPilisandarak – Weda samaga Yali gamata held yesterday (15) at the North Western University Auditorium in Kuliyapitiya.
