Coronavirus update: 484 new COVID-19 cases identified Tuesday, total rises to 45,726

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 484 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Tuesday.

Among the positive cases identified Tuesday, 479 are associates of the Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster, and five overseas arrivals including three from Jordan, one from the UK and a marine security personnel.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report at 10 pm Tuesday, a total of 45,726 COVID-19 cases have been reported and 7,247 infected patients are being treated at hospitals. Another 613 individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Sri Lanka reported 217 deaths and 38,262 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 1,299,336 PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to January 04, according to the Health Promotion Bureau.
