(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The Ministry of Justice says that it has decided to recruit 150 lawyers as Chief Inspectors of Police.
Interviews will be conducted to recruit them after receiving the approval of the Cabinet. The Ministry says its aim is to bring the law closer to the public and further streamline the service provided by the police.
The Ministry of Justice states that they will be recruited to the police service and will be given promotions according to their skills. It is considered as a special qualification that the Chief Inspectors of Police thus recruited have special knowledge of the Tamil language.
They need to have knowledge of technology and after completing the relevant training they will be assigned according to the service requirements.
The decision was taken following a request made by the Minister of Justice to the President.
