(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle, State Minister of Primary Health Services, Pandemics and COVID Prevention has said that the Chinese-made Sinopharm vaccine to be given to Sri Lanka will be first administered to Chinese nationals in Sri Lanka at the request of the Chinese Embassy in Colombo.
It has been reported that the administration of the Colombo Port City has forwarded a request to the Ministry of Health to provide the Sinopharm vaccine to Chinese nationals in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka’s National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) on Saturday approved China’s Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine for emergency use in the island country.
Meanwhile, the State Minister further stated that from tomorrow onwards, vaccinations will be given to persons over 60 years of age covering more Grama Niladhari Divisions.
