(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The Director General of Health Services confirmed 14 deaths caused by Covid-19 virus infection Wednesday. The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 734 by now.
01. The deceased is a 51 year old female resident in Hingurakgoda. She was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 while undergoing treatments in Welikanda Special Treatment Center and transferred to Polonnaruwa General Hospital where she died on May 04. The cause of death is mentioned as Acute Covid pneumonia.
02. The deceased is a 35 year old female resident in Polonnaruwa. She died on May 04 while undergoing treatments in Welikanda Special Treatment Center. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and Schizophrenia.
03. The deceased is a 66 year old female resident in Gonapala. She died on May 04 while undergoing treatments in Horana Base Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.
04. The deceased is a 76 year old male resident in Bulathkohupitiya. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 while undergoing treatments in Base Hospital Karawanella and transferred to Base Hospital Theldeniya where he died on May 05. The cause of death is mentioned as Acute Covid pneumonia, chronic lung decease, and hypertension.
05. The deceased is a 76 year old male resident in Devanagala. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 while undergoing treatments in Police Hospital and transferred to National Institute of Infectious Diseases where he died on May 04. The cause of death is mentioned as stroke, COVID-19 infection, diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease.
06. The deceased is a 70 year old female resident in Gallella. She died on May 04 while undergoing treatments in Welikanda Special Treatment Center. The cause of death is mentioned as Acute Covid pneumonia.
07. The deceased is a 55 year old male resident in Thirappane. He died on May 04 while undergoing treatments at Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID-19 infection.
08. The deceased is a 66 year old male resident in Wattala. He died on May 05 while undergoing treatments in a private hospital in Colombo. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.
09. The deceased is a 67 year old male resident in Kalutara South. He died on May 04 while undergoing treatments in Kalutara District Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.
10. The deceased is an 82 year old female resident in Payagala. She died on May 04 while undergoing treatments in Kalutara District Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as heart failure and Covid pneumonia.
11. The deceased is an 87 year old male resident in Peradeniya. He died on May 04 while undergoing treatments in Peradeniya Teaching Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.
