(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – Lanka Phosphate Company, which was under Minister Wimal Weerawansa, will now belong to his ministry, Minister of Agriculture Mahindananda Aluthgamage said.
Speaking to media in Nawalapitiya town the Minister said Lanka Phosphate Company has been gazetted to the Ministry of Agriculture.
“I see the reason for that is that Lanka Phosphate was under the Department of Agriculture in the past. The government has launched a massive program on behalf of the Department of Agriculture. Phosphate production is very valuable,” he said.
He said Minister Wimal Weerawansa had played a major role. The Ministry of Agriculture will start the production of phosphate in our country with all that work,” the Minister further stated.
