(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Minister of Health Dr. Keheliya Rambukwella says that the booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine will be given to the citizens of this country starting from November 01.
He said arrangements will be made to give the booster shots first to the frontline personnel of the COVID control program.
Speaking at a media briefing held at the Ministry of Health auditorium yesterday (26), .Mr. Rambukwella said a stock of two million vaccines has been received to start this program.
He said that another stock of 14 million vaccines has been ordered for future vaccinations and that steps will be taken to bring those vaccines to the country in a systematic manner.
The Minister added that it will be possible to provide booster shots over the next three to four months for the people of this country.
He noted that the government did not charge any money from the people to give the three doses of the vaccine, but some countries have given the vaccine for a fee.
