Stock of donated Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine arrives in Sri Lanka

(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) –A stock of 182,400 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine donated to Sri Lanka were flown from Dubai to the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport this morning (2).

The consignment, weighing 1,014 kilograms and packed in 32 boxes was first flown from Amsterdam in the Netherlands to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. It was then flown from Dubai to Katunayake Airport at 08.45 am today (2) on an Emirates EK-650 cargo plane.

The Ministry of Health has taken steps to transport the vaccine stock to their Central Warehousing Complex in Colombo by special refrigerated trucks.
