(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – President Gotabaya Rajapaksa issuing an Extraordinary Gazette notification has prorogued the Parliament with effect from midnight Sunday (12) closing the first session of the 9th Parliament.
The President has fixed January 18, 2022 for the commencement of the next session of parliament.
According to the Gazette notification, the next session will commence at 10.00 a.m. on January 18, 2022 in the Chamber of Parliament.
