(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) –Sri Lanka health officials Thursday confirmed three more cases of the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 coronavirus in the country.
Director of the Department of Immunology and Molecular Medicine at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura Dr. Chandima Jeewandara has announced in a Twitter message that three more cases of Omicron variant of the COVID-19 coronavirus confirmed in his laboratory.
Accordingly, the number of omicron infections in the country has increased to 04.
Dr. Jeewandara cautioned that the Omicron numbers will increase and urged the public to get the booster vaccine.
Sri Lanka confirmed its first case of Omicron variant on December 03 in an unvaccinated Sri Lankan female who recently returned from Nigeria.
