(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Prof. Channa Jayasumana, State Minister of Production, Supply and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals said in Parliament yesterday (24) that strict legal action would be taken against those who sell medicines at prices higher than the control price.
The Minister said that the private sector has been given permission to increase the prices of medicines by a certain percentage with the dollar situation and legal action will be taken if drugs are sold above the relevant control prices.
Responding to a question raised by Anuradhapura District Parliamentarian Rohana Bandara State Minister Channa Jayasumana said the state hospital system provides all treatments free of charge and all medicines are provided free of charge.
