(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Police Headquarters say during police raids in the last 24 hours 21 suspects have been arrested in connection with the May 9th violent incidents.
The police carry out daily operations to arrest suspects engaged in riots and violent incidents. Accordingly 21 suspects were arrested within the 24 hour period ending this morning.
Meanwhile, 22 suspects arrested earlier were released on bail yesterday and the court ordered the remand of 8 suspects.
According to the police 2,725 suspects have been arrested in connection with 857 incidents reported so far and 1,083 of them have been remanded.
