(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera said the license of three fuel trucks have been suspended with immediate effect.
The suspension was imposed by the state owned fuel supplier CEYPETCO and private Lanka IOC pending further investigations into three Incidents reported on social media on fuel transport trucks illegally unloading fuel.
The Minister thanked everyone who brought the illegal activities to notice.
Meanwhile, the Lanka Indian Oil Corporation expressing “deep anguish” over the illegal distribution of fuel said on Twitter that strict action in line with the prevalent guidelines has been initialized against the concerned transporter.
“Lanka IOC expresses deep anguish over the indulgence of the subject TT crew in the wrongful unethical activity. Strict action in line with the prevalent guidelines has been initialized against the concerned transporter,” it said.
