(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Commissioner General of Examinations Mr. L. M. D. Dharmasena said that the results of the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level 2021 examination were released yesterday afternoon (August 28).
The GCE Advanced Level examination which was scheduled to be held last year was held from February 07 to March 05 this year at 2,438 centers island wide.
The Commissioner General of Examinations also said that the examination results can be obtained through the websites www.doenets.lk and www.results.exams.gov.lk of the Examination Department.
The official said that 236,035 school applicants and 36,647 private applicants totaling 272,682 applicants appeared for the 2021 advanced level examination this year.
According to the Department of Examinations, 171,497 students or 62.9 percent have qualified for university admission based on the results of the GCE (A/L) 2021 examination. Of the number qualified to apply for university admission, 149,946 were school applicants and 21,551 are private applicants.
The results of 49 school and private applicants have been withheld, the Examination Department said.
The Commissioner General of Examinations said that the examination result documents of the respective schools will be issued to the principals after the re-scrutinized results are released.
The Commissioner General of Examinations also informed that the applications for the re-scrutiny of results should be submitted through the online system and the relevant date will be announced later.
